Its remarkable history is evident across the island, from the ruins of the Minoan Palace of Knossos to the Venetian fortresses of Rethymo; from old mosques and Byzantine monasteries to the cave that is the legendary birthplace of Zeus. The Venetian port of Chania in Western Crete is one of Greece's most evocative cities and the capital, Heraklio, is a bustling modern city.

Our team is passionate about investing personal time and effort into handcrafting your experiences. From helicopter transportation and excursions of historic Crete, to exploring traditional villages and trips on a speed boat, we can customize every detail. Our team is dedicated to surpassing your expectations and making your stay, the most memorable ever.

Our Ultimate Guest Service team recommends eight suggested itineraries to explore Crete and will be delighted to customize any itinerary to fulfil your needs. Contact our team by email at ultimateservice@bluepalace.gr or by phone at +30 28410 65500 for itinerary details.

Natural Beauty - Aghios Nikolaos is probably best known as a town that serves as a hub to the twenty or so small villages and farms that make up that part of Lassithi. The itinerary begins at the Village of Elounda and then heads you off in Aghios Nikolaos. We recommend you visit the Village of Kritsa and after lunch explore the Byzantine Church of Panagia Kera.

Historical Sites - This day of exploring begins at the city of Heraklion and the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, the world's premier museum of Minoan civilization and continues to the site of ancient Knossos, once the center of the Minoan world. The end of the day will find you in the small town of Archanes.

The Ancient Greek Table - Of all achievements of ancient Greece, the Mediterranean diet is among the most widely admired today. Three of its stellar staples, ancient and modern, are olives, wine and honey. Today, as thousands of years ago, Greece is a landscape of olive groves and vineyards.

Ancient & Medieval Pathways - Take an excursion to Ancient Lato and enjoy the panoramic view from the hilltop. Sail on a caique surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the coast line of Elounda and Spinalonga Island. Set off from the hotel's own jetty and travel in crystal clear waters around the Mirabello Gulf.

The Birthplace of Zeus - Take a mountain journey to the Lasithi Plateau and across to The Diktaion Cave, a focal cult site of the Cretan Zeus and finally to the quiet remote village of Aghios Georgios.

Island Escape - Swim and sunbathe at remote beaches and unlock some of the most authentic surroundings of Crete. In the wonder of the Libyan sea, the journey to Chrissi Island is usually in the company of herring seagulls, while occasionally dolphins play within sight.

The Beauties of East Crete - After a brief visit to the peaceful port town of Sitia and the archaeological museum, proceed directly to Moni Toplou and The Palm Beach of Vai. Explore as much of the gorge as time and energy reserves permit.

The Beauties of West Crete - Explore west side of Crete and visit Rethymno & Chania towns, both characterized by the Venetian touches to the architecture. Take the chance and visit the 16th century monastery of Arkadi and for the most adventurous, walk the Samaria gorge.
